About the opportunity

We have an opportunity in Leeds for a Cyber Security Principal Consultant within our Risk function within our Data Security Centre. Our Data Security Centre are responsible for managing the cyber security across the products and services NHS Digital provides.     

The Cyber Security Principal Consultant will focus on the provision of expert cyber security consultative guidance, with the strategic aim of ensuring that products and services being delivered are resilient to cyber attack, and that once in-service, that residual risks to resilience are managed through-life.

The successful candidate will maintain a section of the Cyber Design Authority’s (CDA’s) policy and standards suite of documentation, ensuring that existing guidance remains current through periodical update as well as ensuring the guidance is adhered to. 

This is a pivotal, senior role within the team and will represent the Specialist Security Services (S3) team at broader NHS Digital Technical Design Authorities, providing SME advice and guidance on the security aspects of future work. You will act as the Training Co-Ordinator for the broader team, developing training pathways for colleagues, with line management responsibility for 3 Cyber Security Consultants and 2 Senior Cyber Security Consultants, to include tasking, report writing and objective setting.

About you

We want to make sure that you are set for success, these are the key skills and experience that you will have:

•    A strong track record in a similar role, with experience of team management and leadership
•    Advanced specialist knowledge of the processes, tools and techniques of information security management, ability to deploy and monitor information security systems, as well as detect, resolve and prevent violations of IT security, to protect organizational data
•    Industry qualifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, CRISC 
•    Strong evidence of continuous professional development in the Cyber Security field 
•    Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management ability
