About the role

This is an exciting time to join NHS Digital’s Data Security Centre, as we continue to invest in improving the cyber resilience of the products we deliver to front line NHS organisations, and improve the expert advice and guidance we provide directly to them on a daily basis.

The Security Operations Lead is a highly visible, strategic leadership role responsible for the ongoing development, delivery and management of the NHS Digital Cyber Security Operations Centre (CSOC)

As part of the role you will be responsible for

•    Being primarily focused on the maturing of the Cyber Security Operations Centre, you will be a highly skilled and knowledgeable expert in Cyber Security. The strategic aim of this engagement is to help improve the cyber security posture of organisations and NHS Digital, and help ensure they are resilient to a cyber-attack
•    Representing the Cyber Security Operations Centre (CSOC) team at broader NHS Digital technical meetings and projects, providing advice and guidance on the security risks of future work
•    Acting as the Training leader for the broader CSOC team. Developing training pathways for permanent team members and short-term supplementary staff such as Graduates, Apprentices and secondees
•    Line Management responsibility for around 12 Cyber Security Senior Analysts

About you

•    Advanced specialist knowledge of modules, processes and technologies of Information Security Operation Centre (ISOC); ability to detect, response and utilize related platform and applications to perform cyber security initiatives
•    Experience in Team leadership and management positions
•    Evidence of continuous professional development in the field of Cyber Security
•    Membership of professional body such as ISACA/ISC2/SANS 
•    Knowledge of the NHS desirable
