About the role
NHS Digital are the data custodians for the health and care system. Our Data Services Directorate has primary responsibility for driving data quality, linking data across the system, and providing statistics and insights.
We are recruiting two Senior Information Analysts to join either our Archimedes Team and GP Data for Planning and Research Team.
You will join our Archimedes Tribe within NHS Digital which delivers services across a variety of portfolios. These include Mental Health, Community Services, Learning Disabilities, Maternity Services Dataset, Clinical Indicators and Population Health and, the area you will work with predominantly with Clinical Audit, focusing on the National Diabetes Audit.
GP Data for Planning and Research Team
You will work as part of a newly formed team focussing on analysis of the new GP Data for Planning and Research (GPDfPR) collection. This is a unique opportunity to work on a ground-breaking new dataset which will be the largest collection of GP data in the UK.
Please note this role is on a Fixed Term Contract for 2 years.
As a Senior Information Analyst, you will:
Manage a small team of analysts.
Create outputs, reports and feeds of live data for customers.
Validate live data.
Creation of a process and templates to capture customer requirements.
Carry out training for analysts and users of the data.
Work with stakeholders to define future reporting and publication requirements.
Some of the key skills and experience that you will bring to the role:
Knowledge of statistical modelling and techniques including coding on software packages
Experience using cutting edge technologies combined with data expertise to solve real-world problems
Data linkage and analysis of new types of data including using analysis and subject matter knowledge to inform content requirements.
Specialist knowledge of business intelligence and visual analytics to develop and standardise sophisticated interactive presentations.
Educated to a Master’s degree level in a numerate discipline, or an equivalent level of knowledge.
Be able to understand and interpret results from complex or novel analysis, apply the results to the given problem and suggest conclusions to be drawn.
Able to present and explain results of analysis via written and verbal communication.
