About the role

The Head of Content and Creative will provide leadership, direction and strategy for content and creative covering brand, design, editorial, rich media and publications at NHS Digital.

You will share NHS Digital's vision of bringing about a digital revolution in information and technology to provide better health and care. You will manage the development of NHS Digital’s visual and verbal identity while developing and refining the building blocks of our brand.

Working closely with the Associate Director of Communications you will develop the strategy and implement the delivery of our new content and creating function. You will be a guardian for our brand, developing future direction while ensuring our identity and house style is maintained across the communication team and organisation. You will use your digital and social media expertise to enable digital–first approach to communications. 

We are looking for someone who is an inspiring leader, you will use your professional capability to drive continuous improvement by empowering, motivating and inspiring the team to deliver creative outputs in time.  


About you

We want to make sure that you are set for success, these are the skills that you will have: 

• Relevant specialist degree in communications or equivalent senior, professional experience

• A deep knowledge of and skill in a broad range of communications disciplines from the following: marketing, brand, internal communications, stakeholder engagement, project management, reputation, risk and change management. 

• Evidence of ongoing professional, management and leadership development

• Membership of relevant professional associations, for example Institute of Internal Communications (IOIC), Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR), Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM)

• Significant experience of leading and managing marketing / communications teams in a senior role in a complex public, private or voluntary sector environment.
