About the NHS Digital Graduate Scheme (Product and Delivery Management)
Product and Delivery Management graduates will have the opportunity to work in the following 2 roles before specialising in the second year.
Our Product Managers help to define the outcomes a product ensuring it delivers genuine value and works for everyone. They ensure that we listen to the needs of our audiences and design the simplest solution to meet a need.
Product Managers lead a team of User Researchers, Business Analysts, Service Designers, User Experience Designers, Developers and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). The main aims of the role are to:
Create, maintain and communicate the service vision to key stakeholders
Develop opportunities with service users, service owners, other programmes and suppliers
Lead the customer team to elicit and understand key stakeholder needs and translate these into viable products
Work with the team to develop a thorough understanding of the service roadmap and its priorities
Measure the effectiveness of new features against KPIs to ensure we understand the value delivered
Our Delivery Managers help to ensure delivery teams have the information, tools and people they need to deliver a product or service that has utility and value. They focus on the methods and processes to ensure successful delivery and to reduce risks, working in digital teams and closely with a Product Manager.
Delivery Managers follow agile and lean practices and apply specific agile tools and techniques to support and promote effective delivery.
This involves working with a range of internal and external stakeholders, regularly producing a range of materials including delivery plans and reports. They also regularly facilitate team workshops and lessons learnt events as well as planning sessions to focus on outcomes and improve the way the team operates.
You won’t be on your own. You’ll be working with other trainees, both new to the role like yourself, and those who started their journey on a previous scheme. Along with the wider team, a career manager and community of practice, your support network couldn’t be better for getting your career off to an extraordinary start.
At NHS Digital we see our graduates as future leaders and influential specialists. You will be mentored by members of our Leadership Programme to ensure that you grow expertise in your subject area while gaining an understanding of business and strategy.
Providing that you successfully complete your programme we will guarantee an interview for one of our permanent roles. Most of our graduates go on to secure a job with us on a higher grade.

Roles at NHS Digital are subject to a basic Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service following an acceptance of an offer of employment.
