Senior Occupational Therapist

The role:
In this role you will be an integral part of a team who are committed to delivering the highest quality clinical care in a supported environment, where you will be valued for your skills. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Occupational Therapist to assist us in our busy therapy department.
You will be responsible for delivering a high standard of therapy and always meeting the needs of our residents.  You will assess and analyse individuals and determine their need for occupational therapy intervention to maximise functional independence and rehabilitation potential.  Ideally you will have experience in Discharge Planning and the ability to incorporate treatments that require knowledge of Physiotherapy and Speech Therapy core skills (interdisciplinary approach).
You’ll get to enjoy working in a close multi-disciplinary team where there is real respect and a drive for high quality, evidence based safe patient care in an innovative modern working environment.  You will benefit from a varied surgical caseload which will broaden your skills and experience as well as support and training opportunities.

You will need:

  • Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Registered with The Health Professions Council
  • Member of College of Occupational Therapists
  • Wheelchair experience
  • Able to demonstrate experience and knowledge of assessing and treating people with a complex condition
  • Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal), with residents, visitors, Occupational therapists and the wider multi-disciplinary team.
