Due to internal promotion, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and pro-active experienced Oncology Pharmacist to join our team at Springfield Hospital.
Ramsay Healthcare UK is a high quality provider of acute private healthcare across the UK. We have a highly specialised team of dedicated staff who work within this multi- speciality setting.
Springfield Hospital opened in 1987 and is one of Essex’s leading elective surgery private hospitals. It is a 64 bedded hospital all with ensuite facilities. Additionally we have parent and child rooms and a high dependency unit. The Hospital has a dedicated Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy Unit, six operating theatres, a physiotherapy department, modern diagnostic equipment including MRI and CT and private GP services. The hospital is currently undergoing extensive refurbishment to include pharmacy relocating to larger premises within the hospital.
You will be required to provide an efficient, professional and expert service to all oncology patients seen at Springfield Hospital. You will be responsible for leading, managing and delivering the specialist pharmacy service around oncology services. Duties will include oncology clinical screening, writing and approval of oncology prescriptions, training and support to other pharmacy staff, nurses and consultants concerning oncology and chemotherapy. You will be a key person for the successful implementation of the new electronic prescribing system for chemotherapy at the Springfield Site. You may also be required to help in generic pharmacy duties such as clinical service to wards, checking, dispensing, stock control, procurement and patient counselling. Full training will be provided for local computer systems.
We require you to have clear and confident communication skills, be patient focused and have at least 2 years post registration hospital pharmacy experience within oncology. Enthusiasm and flexibility are essential.
The post is for a part time position for 22.5 hours a week. You will be expected to take part in the Saturday rota and on call rota.
You must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a pharmacist to be eligible to apply for this post.
