Pinehill Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Theatre Scrub Practitioner, to join our experienced team. Working with a wide variety of specialties you will be able to support the effective running of the department and develop your clinical skills in a friendly supportive environment.

This role provides the opportunity for an experienced scrub practitioner looking to take on more responsibility to support the running of the department with managing of equipment, organising of rotas and mentoring and developing staff alongside the rest of the experienced senior team.

All registered staff complete ILS training and development through mentorship and other courses is also available.

We have a flexible approach to managing hours, with no night or Sunday working and staff usually rostered one Saturday morning per month. There is the potential to agree part time or fixed hours for the right candidate.

Set rate payments are made for on call and the rota usually requires staff to be on call one night a week and one weekend a month. Theatres are rarely re-opened with one member of staff called in twice in seven years.

Duties and responsibilities:

Our theatre is a fast paced environment with 85% of our patients treated as day cases. You will work across a wide variety of surgical procedures; assisting in Consultant led surgeries to provide a high standard of individualised patient care and ensure compliance with national best practice standards. The post-holder will also support the running of the department with managing of equipment, organising of rotas and mentoring and developing staff, alongside the rest of the experienced senior team.

The Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate will be a Registered Nurse / Operating Department Practitioner with scrub experience in multiple specialties and a proven ability to work effectively in a team environment or with minimum supervision as required. Orthopaedic experience would be an advantage. The role is suitable for an experienced scrub practitioner looking to step into a senior role to support the effective running of the department.
