We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic manager to lead from the front and further develop outpatient services. The role would suit an individual who is passionate about delivering excellent patient centred care who has had experience in a leadership role. The successful candidate will provide strong leadership to outpatient services working with consultants, delivering nurse led dressing clinics and pre-operative assessment services.

 

The hospital delivers a range of specialties including orthopaedics, general surgery, plastic surgery, urology, gynaecology, dermatology, oral, ENT, endoscopy, to both private and NHS patients and includes inpatient, day case and outpatient procedures. The purpose built outpatient department consists of eight consultation rooms, two treatment rooms and is supported by onsite radiology and physiotherapy services.

 

Reporting to the Head of Clinical Services, key responsibilities include:

 

  • Providing supportive and inspirational leadership to the outpatient team & foster excellent relationships with consultants, suppliers and other key stakeholders
  • Participating in delivery of care where necessary being a role model to ensure highest standards of practice are maintained
  • Managing  resources within budget and ensure quality and financial KPIs are achieved
  • Managing the governance agenda ensuring policy compliance, audit & action planning, a continuous cycle of improvement
  • Being an integral part of the Hospital Management Team participating in strategy development and driving plans for achievement and success

 

Essential Requirements

  • Registered Nurse
  • Previous experience in a leadership role
  • Demonstrable planning and organisational skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Sound written (report writing) and verbal communication skills
  • Good computer skills (MS Office package)
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements

 

Desirable Requirements

 

  • Evidence of effectively managing a successful team
  • Previous private sector health care experience
  • Recognised management qualification
  • Commercial and financial awareness
  • Experience in pre-operative assessment
  • ALS qualification
