Cadet Administrative Assistant

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Reserve Forces and Cadets Association (RFCA) for Yorkshire & the Humber as a CAA based in Driffield.

You will be responsible for providing expert services in support of the Ministry of Defence and therefore applicants coming from an Armed Forces background with RQMS/CQMS appointments would be advantageous, however other applications that show suitable experience will be considered.

RFCA for the Yorkshire and Humber region is an enabling organisation supporting the Army Reserve and Cadet units across the North Lincolnshire and Yorkshire region. Funded by the Ministry of Defence, one of our key and expending functions is to provide Administrative and Logistic support to the Army Cadet Force (ACF), a vibrant national youth organisation.

As a Cadet Administrative Assistant, you will be responsible for all the administrative and technical

matters within County HQ and the Cadet Training Centre (CTC) at Driffield.

What you need:

  • Current, full driving licence including Category D1 and C
  • Good organisation skills
  • Ability to interact with a diverse range of people of various ages
  • Good IT skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
  • Ability to prioritise the workload to maximise the use of their time
  • Capable of working independently as well as part of a team
  • Self-motivated, positive and flexible in their approach

You will be eligible to join the CRFCA Pension scheme which is a Career Average Revalued Earnings scheme (CARE) and will be entitled to 25 days annual leave, plus Bank holidays. Annual leave entitlement increases by 1 day per year up to 30 days; those with 5 years’ prior service with HM Forces/OGD will start with 30 days’ entitlement.

The post holder will be subject to a Security Clearance check, DBS Enhanced check and verification of previous employment history through two suitable references.
